Year 6 Teacher - Bexleyheath
We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, and committed Year 6 Teacher to join a supportive primary school in Bexleyheath, starting as soon as possible. This is an exciting opportunity to teach pupils in their final year of primary education, helping them consolidate core skills, prepare for secondary school, and achieve their full potential.

The Role
As a Year 6 Teacher, you will take responsibility for planning and delivering lessons across all subjects, with a particular focus on core areas such as English, maths, and science. You will monitor progress, identify gaps in learning, and provide targeted support to ensure pupils leave primary school ready for their next stage. Promoting resilience, independence, and positive learning behaviours will be central to your role.
You will work closely with teaching assistants, colleagues, and senior leaders to maintain high standards across Key Stage 2. Communication with parents and carers will be an important aspect of your responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality lessons across the Year 6 curriculum
Monitor pupil progress and use assessment to inform teaching
Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils, including SEND and EAL learners
Maintain a structured, positive, and inclusive classroom environment
Promote independence, resilience, and positive behaviour
Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and KS2 colleagues
Communicate effectively with parents and carers
Participate in staff meetings, CPD, and school improvement initiatives
Who We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will:
Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Have experience teaching Key Stage 2, ideally Year 6
Be confident in assessment, curriculum delivery, and differentiation
Possess excellent classroom management and organisational skills
Be reflective, proactive, and adaptable
Demonstrate a commitment to safeguarding and inclusion
Work effectively as part of a collaborative team
Early Career Teachers are welcome and will receive mentoring and support.
