First People Solutions is recruiting for a well-established consulting engineer located in Glasgow. This respected consultancy has built a strong presence across civil, structural, and geo-environmental engineering, with over four decades of experience delivering technically complex projects.
They are recognised for innovative and sustainable design, professional standards, public and staff development. Their portfolio spans residential, commercial, and industrial projects, including high-profile regeneration schemes and public sector frameworks.
They are seeking a Structural Technician to join their Glasgow office. You will work on a variety of small to medium-sized projects, assisting engineers in delivering high-quality designs and ensuring projects meet technical standards.
Key Responsibilities :
- Assist in running small to medium-sized residential, commercial, and industrial projects
- Manage the production of drawings, and assist engineers in developing technical details
- Liaise with Architects and Contractors, representing the practice at technical meetings and inspecting works on site
- Maintain knowledge of BIM Level 2, CDM regulations, and health & safety requirements
Your Experience and Skills :
- HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or equivalent
- 2-4 years of professional experience working within a design environment in the UK
- Proven experience as a Structural Technician in building projects (residential, commercial, industrial or equivalent)
- Skilled in AutoCAD, Revit or equivalent
- Able to attend design meetings and conduct site inspections when required
- Committed to continuous learning and professional development
