The Public Sector Business Development team is the catalyst for all public sector sales. The Public Sector Business Development team is responsible for obtaining accreditations on procurement frameworks, responding to further competition from those frameworks, bidding on partner opportunities, and managing all subsequent contracts and statements of work.
The Contract Specialist is responsible for managing a few key commercial and contract processes in long term contracts and framework agreements, and for adopting and developing commercial processes in line with Insight’s procedures. The Contract Specialist is held accountable for supporting business development and sales opportunities in the public sector by enabling and facilitating a few key processes.
Key responsibilities:
- Identify relevant ICT government tenders and manage bid production processes with key contracts, frameworks, and requests for information.
- Negotiate and draft contract documentation and statements of work (SOWs) to secure the best commercial terms.
- Manage a portfolio of contracts, sub-contractors, and framework provider agreements to facilitate new business and maximise opportunity return.
- Collaborate closely with account and consulting teams, as well as solution specialist teammates to ensure accurate, appropriate, and engaging information is included in each contract.
- Mange complex deal opportunities that encompass multi-part contracts and relationships, and secure maximum return to Insight while simultaneously mitigating potential risk.
- Develop and maintain processes for on-boarding new contracts and frameworks.
- Manage requests for ‘Contract Change’ notices while ensuring compliance with Insight’s policies and procedures.

Key skills and experience required:
- Demonstrates previous experience working as a commercial contract paralegal or contracts manager
- High level of written and spoken English
- confident, outward-looking, proactive communicator
- Fully conversant with Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, and Word)
- Demonstrates previous experience working in a sales environment
- Proven ability in drafting contractual paperwork and documents
- LPC, LLB, Legal Executive or other relevant legal training
- Process driven with an excellent attention to detail and a working knowledge of ITIL areas
- Results orientated with ability to plan and deliver against project deadlines
- Demonstrates awareness of contract law
- Experience of working within a statutory legal and/or regulatory framework
- Articulate, numerate and able to communicate well at all levels within Insight and Insight clients
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with managers and senior members across the organisation, and external stakeholders
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in addition to confidence in presenting to senior management, clients, and subcontractors
- Ability to plan, organise and prioritise workload, including coordinating with others to ensure statutory and other deadlines and targets are met
- Excellent time management skills for self, team, and team deliverables
- Excellent time management skills and ability to work unsupervised, to tight deadlines
