• Salary: Pro-rata competitive independent school salary scale, including statutory ECT induction support (Inner London region).

The Role

• The successful ECT of History will take ownership of classes across Key Stages 3 and 4 (GCSE), focusing on fostering critical analysis and sophisticated essay writing.
• You will work alongside a passionate department head who will serve as your mentor, guiding you through the ECT induction phase within the independent sector context.
• The ECT of History will have the creative freedom to adapt schemes of work to suit an intellectually curious student body.
• This role requires the ECT of History to maintain the high standards of intellectual depth and rigorous academic exploration the school is known for.
• The appointed ECT of History is encouraged to start or support a historical society or debate club on teaching days.
• As the ECT of History, you will be involved in marking, assessment, and planning on a pro-rata basis.
• This part-time cover offers a valuable, focused experience for a new ECT of History in a top London school.
• You must be ready to integrate quickly and professionally into the staff team as the ECT of History.

Requirements

• Holds QTS
• Has the right to work in the UK
• Experience teaching KS3/4 and or KS5
