- SEMH needs
- Autism (ASC)
- ADHD
- Behavioural and communication difficulties
- Trauma, attachment needs, and low emotional regulation

The Role – Graduate SEMH Teaching Assistant
As a Graduate SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs
- Use de-escalation, emotional regulation, and behaviour support strategies
- Help pupils build confidence, resilience, and positive relationships
- Support learning in the classroom and adapt activities based on individual needs
- Work alongside teachers, SENCOs, and therapists to deliver tailored support plans
- Assist with daily routines, safe spaces, and structured activities to promote wellbeing
- Create a nurturing, calm, and consistent environment that helps students thrive

Person Specification
To be successful, you must:
- Hold a degree in Psychology, Mental Health, Education, Criminology, Sociology, or a related field
- Have graduated within the last two years
- Be passionate about SEMH, mental health, and supporting vulnerable pupils
- Have strong communication skills and emotional resilience
- Be patient, empathetic, and calm under pressure
- Any experience in youth work, behaviour mentoring, SEN support, mental health work, or children’s services is desirable (but not essential)
