Location: Secondary school in Putney, South West London
Role: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30am–15:30pm
Salary: £500–£600 per week

A high-performing secondary academy in Wandsworth is seeking a dedicated Graduate School Behaviour Mentor to join its pastoral team from September 2025. As a Graduate School Behaviour Mentor, you’ll work closely with students facing social, emotional, and behavioural challenges, helping them to re-engage with learning and build confidence.
This Graduate School Behaviour Mentor role is an excellent opportunity for graduates considering careers in Educational Psychology, Youth Work, SEN Teaching, or Mental Health Support, offering hands-on experience within a highly successful and supportive school environment.
Who We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate for this Graduate School Behaviour Mentorrole will have:
- Degree (2:1 or higher) in Psychology or related subject preferred
- Strong interpersonal and behaviour management capabilities
- Calm, confident, and professional approach to challenging situations
- Dedication to build strong relationships with young people
- Experience working with children or teenagers in any capacity is highly advantageous
- Excellent communication skills and natural empathy
The Role
As a Graduate School Behaviour Mentor, you will play a vital role in supporting students aged 11–16 with a diverse range of social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing targeted 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEMH needs such as anxiety, trauma, ADHD, and challenging behaviours
- Creating a nurturing and secure environment that promotes self-regulation, emotional growth, and positive learning outcomes
- Using de-escalation strategies and restorative approaches to manage behaviour calmly and effectively
- Building trusted, positive relationships with vulnerable students to boost engagement, resilience, and self-esteem
- Working collaboratively with teaching staff, pastoral leads, and external professionals to implement tailored interventions and support plans
This role is ideally suited to Psychology graduates or individuals with experience in mentoring, coaching, youth work, or care settings. It requires resilience, empathy, and emotional intelligence—qualities essential for making a genuine difference in young people’s lives.
