Marine Underwriter – Specialty MGA & Syndicate
Location: London | Salary: Competitive + bonus | Experience: 3–5 years
Our client is a rapidly growing specialty MGA & Syndicate with a strong focus on emerging markets and complex risk. Their Marine division plays a pivotal role within the business – providing intelligent, risk-led cargo and project solutions. This isn’t a role about ticking boxes or quoting from templates – it’s about using judgement, building relationships, and shaping business across markets where every deal genuinely counts.
As a Marine Underwriter , you’ll work closely with senior leadership, brokers, and counterparties to grow a diverse portfolio covering:
- Marine Open Covers and Single Shipments (imports, exports, domestic transit)
- Stock Throughput – combined stock and transit risks
- Project Cargo including Delay in Start-Up
- Risks spanning Agriculture, Mining, Oil & Gas, and Pharmaceuticals
The environment is collegiate, fast-paced, and underpinned by a strong sense of purpose – providing capacity and confidence across some of the most exciting, fast-evolving regions globally.
We’re looking for someone with 3–5 years’ underwriting experience , ideally within marine cargo or related specialty lines, who’s commercially sharp, technically credible, and thrives in a collaborative team setting.
If you’re ready to join a business where your underwriting actually makes a difference – and want to work alongside some of the best in the market – this could be a superb move.
