EYFS Teaching Assistant - Fulham

Marchant Recruitment
London

We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and reliable EYFS Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Fulham, starting as soon as possible. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about early childhood education and enjoys supporting young children during the most important stage of their learning and development.

The school has a strong community ethos and places great emphasis on child-centred learning, wellbeing, and early development. Staff work closely together to create a nurturing, engaging, and structured EYFS environment where children feel safe, confident, and motivated to learn. Senior leadership is highly supportive and committed to staff development, offering regular training and guidance.

The Role

As an EYFS Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher and EYFS team to support children’s learning across all areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage framework. You will assist with delivering activities, supporting continuous provision, and helping children develop key skills in communication, language, social interaction, and independence.

You will play a vital role in supporting children’s emotional wellbeing, behaviour, and personal development, ensuring they are happy, settled, and ready to learn. The role also involves observing children, contributing to assessments, and working closely with parents and carers to support progress.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support teaching and learning across the EYFS curriculum

  • Assist with delivering engaging activities and continuous provision

  • Support children’s communication, language, and early literacy development

  • Promote positive behaviour, independence, and confidence

  • Support children’s social, emotional, and personal development

  • Observe, assess, and contribute to tracking children’s progress

  • Work collaboratively with the EYFS team and wider school staff

  • Support children during transitions, routines, and outdoor learning

  • Maintain a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment

  • Contribute to staff meetings, training, and school initiatives

  • Follow safeguarding and child protection procedures at all times

Who We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have previous experience working in EYFS or with young children

  • Be nurturing, patient, and enthusiastic

  • Demonstrate strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Be proactive, flexible, and reliable

  • Show a strong understanding of child development

  • Have a clear commitment to inclusion, safeguarding, and child wellbeing

Location

The school is based in Fulham, with excellent transport links and a supportive local community. Staff benefit from a positive, professional working environment with a strong focus on collaboration and wellbeing.

How to Apply

To apply, please submit an up-to-date CV outlining your experience and suitability for the role.
