SEND Teaching Assistant in Limehouse
Primary school in Limehouse now recruiting SEND Teaching Assistants
Inclusive and welcoming primary school located in Limehouse, Tower Hamlets, currently looking for a SEND Teaching Assistant to join the support staff team with an immediate start.
As a SEND TA, you could be working with any of the primary key stages (EYFS, KS1 or KS2) so it's important to be open to working with all ages, and some of your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting and working 1:1 with key children to reach the targets on their EHCPs, closely monitoring their progress and providing feedback to teaching staff and senior leaders
- Liaising with class teachers and the SEND team to plan strategies and interventions for key children based on their progress
- Delivering learning interventions, both on a 1:1 basis and to small groups
- Providing pupils with a range of learning strategies
- Supporting non-verbal children with suitable Speech and Language activities
- Encouraging development of vocabulary through speech, reading and writing
- Supporting children with SEND in an inclusive and positive environment
This is a full time role, and you will be working Monday to Friday 8:30am-3:45pm as a SEND Teaching Assistant. There is also the potential for a permanent position in the future, and opportunities for further training and career progression.
Working long term as a SEND TA is very rewarding, and as this position is to last until the end of the academic year (July), you will have the chance to see the progress and development the key children you work with make across the year as a result of your support, help and guidance.Joining a dedicated and friendly team of support staff, you will be working with likeminded people who work collaboratively to ensure every child in the school is able to become a confident learner and achieve their full potential - personally, socially, emotionally and academically.
