Civil Foreman/Tunnel Foreman

Location: Central London - SE1 (Zone 1)

Role Summary:

The Civil Foreman/Tunnel Foreman at Joseph Gallagher will be responsible for overseeing and managing all civil and tunnelling construction activities. This role requires a hands-on approach to ensure that all projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Supervision and Management: Oversee and manage a team of workers, ensuring that all tasks are carried out efficiently and effectively.

2. Project Planning: Coordinate with project managers and engineers to ensure that all projects are executed as per the plan.

3. Safety Compliance: Ensure that all safety protocols are followed, and conduct regular safety checks and drills.

4. Quality Assurance: Ensure that all construction activities meet the required quality standards.

5. Resource Management: Ensure that all resources, including manpower, machinery, and materials, are utilized efficiently.

6. Training: Provide training and guidance to junior staff and ensure that they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge.

7. Reporting: Regularly report on project progress, challenges, and solutions to senior management.

8. Budget Management: Monitor project expenses and ensure that they stay within the allocated budget.

9. Problem Solving: Address any issues or challenges that arise during the construction process and find effective solutions.

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

1. Must have a Level 3 NVQ in Supervision.

2. Strong background in the role of Civil Foreman or Tunnel Foreman with a proven track record of successful project completions.

3. Ideally hold an SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) or SSSTS (Site Supervisors' Safety Training Scheme) certification.

4. Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team effectively.

5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

6. Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to challenges.
