The successful candidate will play a central role in the smooth running of the school's administrative function, working closely with senior leaders and supporting colleagues across the school. The position will involve pupil administration, communication, data management, finance, attendance and general office coordination.

Current Haringey school administration roles demonstrate the importance of strong organisational skills, Microsoft Office knowledge, communication and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.

The Role

As Senior Admin Officer, you will be a key member of the school's administrative team. You will help coordinate the daily operation of the school office while ensuring that records, communications and administrative systems are maintained accurately.

The role will require someone who is confident dealing with parents and carers, comfortable handling confidential information and capable of remaining calm and professional when managing competing priorities.

You may also be required to support junior administrative colleagues, helping to ensure that office procedures are followed consistently and efficiently.

  • Maintain accurate pupil and staff records.

  • Manage attendance and punctuality information.

  • Support admissions and pupil registration processes.

  • Maintain and update school databases and management information systems.

  • Prepare letters, reports, spreadsheets and other documentation.

  • Deal professionally with telephone calls, emails and general enquiries.

  • Act as a welcoming first point of contact for parents, carers and visitors.

  • Support finance administration, including orders, invoices and payments.

  • Coordinate meetings, appointments and school events.

  • Liaise with external organisations and professional services where required.

  • Maintain confidential documentation and ensure information is handled appropriately.

  • Support other members of the administrative team.

  • Ensure safeguarding concerns are reported to the appropriate member of staff.

  • Follow school policies relating to GDPR, safeguarding, health and safety and confidentiality.

The School

The school offers a supportive and well-organised environment where pupils are encouraged to develop academically, socially and personally. The administration team is an important part of the wider school community, ensuring that staff, pupils and families receive an efficient and professional service.

This position would suit someone who enjoys being at the centre of a school environment and who takes pride in maintaining high administrative standards.

Candidate Requirements

You should have:

  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills.

  • Strong written and verbal communication.

  • Excellent attention to detail.

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Word and Excel.

  • Experience maintaining accurate records and databases.

  • Confidence handling confidential information.

  • The ability to communicate effectively with parents and professionals.

  • Strong administrative and problem-solving skills.

  • The ability to prioritise workloads effectively.

  • A calm and professional approach.
