Senior Science Technician (Temporary, with potential to go permanent)
Location: South West London
Contract: Term-time only (39 weeks)
Hours: 8:00am – 4:00pm, Monday to Friday (37.5 hours per week)
Salary: £35,200 – £37,423 (subject to pro-rata)
Start Date: October 2025
Duration: October – December 2025 (with potential to become permanent after 12 weeks)

We are seeking an experienced Senior Science Technician to join a high-performing secondary academy on a temporary basis, with the possibility of a permanent role depending on business needs.

The Role:

Support the delivery of engaging practical science lessons across KS3–KS5, including A Level and BTEC.

*

Prepare, maintain, and manage laboratory equipment, resources, and chemicals.

*

Ensure compliance with Health & Safety requirements (COSHH, CLEAPSS).

*

Provide technical support to teachers and students during lessons.

*

Line manage and train other Science Technicians.

*

Contribute to the smooth and safe running of the science department.

Requirements:

*

Minimum 4–5 years’ experience working in a secondary school science department.

*

Strong subject knowledge to support KS3–KS5 practical work.

*

Excellent organisational and communication skills.

*

Knowledge of Health & Safety procedures in school labs.

*

Degree in a science subject desirable; A Level (minimum Grade C) required.
