The Role

We are looking for an experienced Product Manager to join our growing Commercial Product team, creating and improving customer-led features and journeys in renewable energy services.

We are looking for someone that can pick up and create and can work across our customer experience services on our website. You'll strike the balance between customer needs and commercial outcomes, using data, competitor insight, and a strong sense of ROI to decide what's worth building. Working closely with engineering and Product Design, you'll be comfortable both prototyping ideas quickly (including using AI tools) and digging into the numbers to prove they're worth pursuing; driving acquisition and ensuring our existing customers can manage their account, driving loyalty.

This role covers a full end to end experience with some external integrations on web and app.

Reporting to Ken Fraser, Senior Product Manager

⭐ Why So Energy?

So Energy was created in 2015 because we knew energy suppliers could be better . Since then, we’ve grown rapidly but sustainably, with 300,000 customers and over 450 Energists (what we call our people). But we’re not done! We’re on the road to a net-zero future, and thanks to our partnership with ESB, we’re well on the way. We’re customer-centric, tech-led, and passionate about sustainability.

We’re driven to do our best for our customers, for each other, and for our planet. That’s why we’ve built a workplace culture that’s supportive, empowering, inclusive, and full of opportunities to grow and make an impact.

At So Energy, we take pride in our values-driven culture. We live and breathe by our six core values that guide everything we do:

  • Clear

  • Honest

  • Ambitious

  • Inquisitive

  • Caring

  • Sustainable

What you’ll be getting up to in this role:

  • Working directly with engineering team and product design to keep existing services optimised and running to meet our customer needs

  • Adept at creating and executing on epics and stories as part of product management for existing features as well as new ones, using AI tools to prototype concepts, accelerate discovery, and support day-to-day product work

  • Alignment and prioritisation of new discovery and implementation workstreams by quarter, driven by ROI, and how that aligns to the strategic product roadmap overall

  • Analyse and provide value driven customer and business solutions to existing problems and new features and functions, tracking success criteria after launch

  • Tracking competitor activity and market trends, feeding relevant insight into roadmap and strategy discussions.

  • Managing relationships with external partners, working with them directly to align on shared goals and deliver successful outcomes.

  • Work within agile methodologies using Atlassian suite of software and attend daily stand-ups, planning and refinement with development team

  • You’ll assess and communicate the impact of incidents and bugs and own the initial filtering of issues ensuring a quick and effective resolution with the engineering team

  • Digging into web funnel and product analytics directly to identify opportunity areas, and the impact of changes.

  • Assist and work closely with the Senior Product Manager during the product discovery phase and support alignment against wider strategic planning

You’re a great match if:

  • You'll have a strong commercial mindset: able to prioritise based on ROI and impact, and make the case for trade-offs to stakeholders.

  • You'll keep an eye on the competitive landscape, tracking what competitors and new technologies are doing and using that insight to inform roadmap decisions.

  • You'll be comfortable using AI tools in your day-to-day workflow, whether that's prototyping ideas quickly, speeding up discovery and research, or using AI to support analysis and documentation.

  • You'll be able to get hands-on with data: querying our database directly or working closely with analytics to understand web funnel performance, drop-off points, and conversion, and provide rationale for workstreams and the "why" behind prioritisation.

  • You'll be confident managing partner relationships, working directly with external partners to align on goals and deliver good outcomes.

  • You'll be able to connect business goals with customer outcomes and vice versa, covering end to end across web and app.

  • Your OKRs will be split across acquisition, growth, and commercial efficiency.

  • You'll thrive working with ambiguity and change, adaptive to shifting business and customer priorities, managing multiple workstreams, working to deadlines, and adapting to change and pace

  • You'll be comfortable working with platform, internal tooling, and API-based technologies that enable customer experiences across web and app channels.

Research shows that some underrepresented people are less likely to apply for a role unless they are 100% qualified. We believe your experience, skills, and passion will set you apart. We encourage you to apply and tell us about your journey, even if you don’t tick all the boxes.

Our Hiring Process:

  1. Talent Screen - 20 minutes Teams call

  2. Hiring Manager competency-based Interview

  3. Final stage interview and presentation with our Product Lead & a Senior Stakeholder

APPLICATIONS CLOSE ON 28th August 2026
