SEN Teacher | Merton
A caring primary school in Merton is appointing an experienced SEN Teacher to start January 2026. The SEN Teacher will plan and deliver tailored programmes for pupils with additional needs, conduct assessments, and work closely with class teachers and families to ensure effective differentiation. The role offers a blend of direct teaching and casework, allowing the SEN Teacher to impact both individual progress and whole-school inclusive practice. Induction and collaborative planning time will take place in the weeks leading up to January 2026.
• SEN Teacher required to lead targeted SEND provision
• SEN Teacher required to work within a supportive inclusion team in Merton
• SEN Teacher to deliver evidence-informed interventions and support whole-school inclusion
The SEN Teacher will record progress, adapt provision and liaise with external specialists to secure timely support. The Merton school values reflective practice and provides training opportunities, enabling the SEN Teacher to develop interventions that demonstrate measurable impact across cohorts.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement targeted intervention programmes that meet pupils’ specific needs.
- Use assessment data to monitor impact and refine approaches to accelerate progress.
- Support staff through coaching and modelling adaptive classroom strategies.
- Coordinate multi-agency input and maintain clear, compliant records.
- Communicate sensitively with families and contribute to transition planning.
Person specification
- Qualified teacher with experience of delivering SEND interventions and a strong record of impact.
- Good knowledge of a range of intervention approaches and statutory processes.
- Empathetic communicator, organised and confident working within the Merton community.
- Available to commence January 2026 and to work in Merton.
