Year 3 Teacher | Brent
A popular primary school in Brent is seeking an enthusiastic Year 3 Teacher to join the Key Stage 2 team from January 2026. The successful Year 3 Teacher will plan and teach sequenced units across English, mathematics and foundation subjects, lead guided-reading and comprehension sessions, and deliver targeted small-group support. This Year 3 Teacher post in Brent includes a full handover and induction before January 2026, with the Year 3 Teacher in post from January 2026.
• Year 3 Teacher required for a full-time lower KS2 position
• Year 3 Teacher required to work within a supportive primary school in Brent
• Year 3 Teacher to join a collaborative LKS2 phase delivering a knowledge-rich curriculum
The Year 3 Teacher will use assessment to identify gaps, adapt planning for a range of needs and run booster groups to secure rapid progress. The Year 3 Teacher will work closely with teaching assistants, contribute to year-group moderation and support enrichment activities across Brent. The school offers strong CPD, collaborative planning time and a professional environment for the Year 3 Teacher to develop.
Responsibilities
Plan and deliver progressive Year 3 lessons that develop vocabulary, comprehension and mathematical reasoning.
Lead guided-reading, daily reading fluency and group-based writing activities designed for Year 3 pupils.
Deliver targeted small-group tuition and monitor intervention impact across the Year 3 cohort.
Work with TAs to scaffold tasks and adapt resources to meet diverse needs within Year 3.
Communicate progress clearly with parents and participate in moderation and reporting in Brent.
Person specification
Qualified Teacher Status with proven KS2 experience and strong Year 3 classroom outcomes.
Secure subject knowledge in lower KS2 English and mathematics and confident assessment practice.
Calm, organised classroom presence with effective behaviour-management strategies.
Collaborative, reflective and committed to the Brent school community; available to start January 2026.
