Year 1 Teacher | Sutton

A welcoming primary school in Sutton is seeking a nurturing Year 1 Teacher to start January 2026. The Year 1 Teacher will deliver a carefully sequenced early-years-to-KS1 curriculum that secures rapid progress in phonics, reading, emergent writing and number. The successful Year 1 Teacher will work closely with teaching assistants, lead targeted interventions and communicate regularly with families. An induction programme will run ahead of January 2026 to ensure the Year 1 Teacher is well prepared for the spring term.

This Year 1 Teacher role requires a practitioner skilled in phonics delivery, formative assessment and creating a calm, purposeful classroom culture. Responsibilities
