Overview:
The Global Head of Network Management is accountable for the firm wide identification and management of risk across HSBC’s Network of Agent Banks, in scope Intermediaries and Financial Market Infrastructure (e.g. CCPs, CSDs, Trading Venues) .
This key role ensures that HSBC’s firmwide businesses have a clear understanding of all risk and mitigants across their network, in order to manage their risk appetite effectively.
This role reports into the Head of Custody, Securities Services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading the global team that identifies, manages, reports on and escalates network risk to all of HSBC’s businesses
- Partnering with Business Heads to understand their risk appetites and ensuring that appropriate mitigation strategies are embedded in their framework
- Managing relationships with Network providers (Agent Banks, in scope Intermediaries and Financial Market Infrastructure), ensuring optimal performance and outcomes. This includes onboarding / offboarding and risk management.
- Proactively identifying risk management strategies appropriate to each business and executing on initiatives to support them
- Delivering regulatory assurance across all home and network locations
- Partnering with operational leads to ensure an appropriate framework is in place to manage operational risk in each market
- Lead the development, implementation, and ownership of Management Information (MI) systems, ensuring accurate, timely, and actionable reporting of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) to support strategic decision-making and drive business performance.
- Provide strategic leadership and accountability for Network Management, overseeing client engagement initiatives and driving enhancement in client engagement to strengthen relationships, enhance service delivery, and support overall business objectives.
- Own relationships with key regulators, where appropriate, representation at appropriate industry associations and maintaining an excellent understanding of relevant regulations and compliance standards and implementing these accordingly.
- Driving the successful delivery of time-critical initiatives and programs
- Managing and developing globally distributed teams, fostering a culture of high performance and collaboration
- Ownership of Network Management costs, performance, optimisation and commercial strategy, including recharge allocation model to LoBs.
Experience Required:
- Proven track record of leading a high performing Network Management organisation
- Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing risk frameworks and risk management strategies
- Deep experience in application of regulation across multiple jurisdictions
- Design and delivery of risk management technology
- Strong Operations leadership across multiple locations
- Outstanding stakeholder engagement across multiple businesses, technology, clients, and regulators
- Successful leadership of complex programmes within tight deadlines
- Inspirational leadership of international teams across multiple locations
