HR Assistant Role in a Supportive All-Through School
A Supportive All-Through School in Sutton is seeking to appoint an organised and enthusiastic HR Assistant to join its dedicated support staff team. About the Role
The successful candidate will provide comprehensive administrative support to the school's HR function, ensuring that recruitment, onboarding, compliance, and personnel administration are delivered efficiently and accurately.
Working closely with the HR Manager, School Business Manager, and senior leadership team, you will assist with recruitment campaigns, coordinate interview arrangements, complete safer recruitment checks, maintain confidential employee records, prepare contracts and correspondence, and support staff throughout the employee lifecycle.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong organisational skills who is looking to develop their career within Human Resources in an educational setting.
Key Responsibilities
Provide administrative support across all HR activities
Assist with recruitment, interviews, and onboarding processes
Coordinate safer recruitment and pre-employment compliance checks
Maintain accurate and confidential personnel records
Prepare contracts, offer letters, and HR documentation
Support staff induction and mandatory training records
Assist with absence monitoring and HR reporting
Ensure compliance with safeguarding, GDPR, and employment legislation

Candidate Requirements
Essential Requirements
Previous experience in an HR, administrative, or office support role
Excellent organisational and communication skills
Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally
Excellent attention to detail and the ability to prioritise workload effectively
Desirable
Experience working within a school or educational setting
Knowledge of safer recruitment and employment legislation
CIPD Level 3 qualification or willingness to work towards one
Experience using HR information systems or school management software
