Finance Assistant - Entry Level
Salary: £27,000 per annum + Excellent Company Benefits
Contract: 6-Month Fixed Term Contract (with potential to become permanent)
Location: Office-based during training, then hybrid (2 days office / 3 days WFH)
The Opportunity
Due to an internal promotion, our client is looking to recruit an Entry-Level Finance Assistant to join their close-knit Finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a very recent Accounting & Finance graduate who is looking to start their career in finance within an in-house environment.
This role is suited to someone at the very beginning of their finance journey — motivated, enthusiastic, and keen to learn from the ground up. No prior paid accounting experience is required, as full training will be provided.
The Role
Working closely with the Finance Manager, Finance Team Supervisor, and wider operational teams (Medical Administration, Commercial, and Customer Service), you will support the day-to-day transactional finance function, including:
*
High-volume invoice processing
*
Payment allocations and basic reconciliations
*
Handling customer queries via email and telephone
*
Managing the finance inbox and responding to queries promptly
*
Liaising with internal teams on finance-related queries
*
Supporting general finance administration and data entry
This is a busy, transactional role requiring accuracy, organisation, and confident communication. You will receive hands-on training and ongoing support throughout your first year.
The Team
*
Finance Manager
*
Finance Team Supervisor
*
2 Finance Assistants
You will work closely with both the finance team and wider business functions on a daily basis.
Candidate Requirements
*
Very recent graduate (2024–2025) with a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
*
Native English speaker, confident communicating with customers over the phone and via email
*
Strong customer service background (retail, hospitality, admin, or similar)
*
Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills
*
A positive, “can-do” attitude with a strong work ethic
*
Comfortable working in a high-volume, process-driven environment
*
Stable work history, even if outside of finance
*
Must not have started professional accounting exams (ACCA / CIMA / etc.)
Benefits
*
£27,000 per annum
*
20 days annual leave + bank holidays
*
Healthcare scheme
*
Hybrid working after successful completion of training
*
Ongoing training and mentoring from the Finance Manager and Supervisor
All applications and enquiries will be treated in the strictest confidence.
