Splendid Futures – Social Media Internship

Splendid Communications is looking for a  Social Media Intern  to join the “Splendid Futures” programme. This six-month internship will give you an opportunity to work on some of the world’s most iconic brands as well as getting hands-on experience with our creative and passionate team.

What you’ll be doing...

You'll engage in a structured induction process to ensure you’re exposed to every aspect of the role. You’ll work with different teams across the agency e.g. PR, design and creative, and additionally, work alongside senior leaders who will provide plenty of opportunities for learning from the best.

These are some of the things you’ll get stuck into:

· As a member of our digital and social media team, you will play an important role in helping to develop strategies and content that engage our clients' target audiences and elevate their brand presence online.

· You’ll collaborate with the team to deliver witty, social-first copy at speed and position brands in social conversation through relevant and easy to understand visuals.

· This is a role that will have you the sharing ideas and inspiration with clients and agency teams from the start.

• Collaborate with the social media and creative teams to brainstorm and develop content ideas and ‘always on’ strategies based on trending topics and insights
• Stay up-to-date with industry news, social media platform updates, and digital marketing trends to inform content creation and strategy decisions
• Assist in the creation of compelling social media content, including copywriting, visual assets, and multimedia elements.
• Manage the sharing of reactive and planned reactive social media content on brand channels.
• Track and measure the performance of social media campaigns and content
• Build knowledge of social influencers and content creator communities and build and maintain lists across different social channels of relevant potential partners for brand work. Occasionally support with creative mailer send outs.
• Daily digesting of a broad range of online/social content and trends so you learn to recognise opportunities for clients and build your knowledge and contacts
• Drafting copy for social content
• Logging social analytics and helping your team to report back on results
• Organising and helping to deliver influencer mailers including going out to shops in London to buy samples, managing sample deliveries and liaising with couriers
• Assisting with internal and external events including being a runner on shoots, setting up meeting rooms for guests and clients; researching costs and logistics where needed
• Taking part in brainstorming and learning how to generate creative ideas for the agency and clients
• Presenting your thoughts and ideas to your team (including at Splendid Loves, an informal ideas sharing session)
• Working with your mentor and career development manager to regularly review your progress and learning, ensuring you get the best out of your Splendid experience
• General office upkeep, such as keeping the office clean and tidy and coordinating deliveries, restocking the kitchen and supplies, emptying the dishwasher etc

Requirements

What we need from you...

• Strong interest in pursuing a career in Social Media and a good understanding of what this involves
• The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for identifying and uncovering social media trends
• You’ll be a regular user of TikTok as well as Meta platforms and be familiar with channels like Reddit and Discord
• Genuine passion for food, drink and other lifestyle/cultural areas like music, art, publishing and entertainment
• Passion for reading a range of social and digital news updates and following content from lifestyle influencers
• Understanding and enthusiasm for how the most popular social media channels work, with some knowledge of how brands use them
• Strong skills in written and spoken English communication
• Good attention to detail and a commitment to producing high quality work
• Able to take responsibility for actions and meeting deadlines with a can-do attitude
• Strong team skills, passion and ambition to work together to deliver great work

This role is open to those with and without previous experience in social media and content creation (experience is useful but not essential).

Please Note:

• First interviews will be taking place in February, and the internship will start in March 2026.
• The roles will be based in our Splendid office in East London, so should you be successful you will need to be able to attend the workplace 5 days a week.
• Many of our interns have been successful in securing a permanent role with Splendid after the initial internship period. For this reason, please only apply if you’ve finished studying or are not committed to another job and can consider a potential role directly after the internship
