The Role

As our trainer you’ll play a key role in designing and delivering engaging, person-centred training across our services. From induction to refresher sessions, you’ll ensure our teams are equipped with the knowledge and skills to provide outstanding care.

Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Learning and Development Trainer to join our organisation. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, delivering, and evaluating training programmes that enhance employee skills and organisational growth. Responsibilities

  • Develop engaging training programmes tailored to organisational needs, utilising tools such as Adobe Captivate and SharePoint.
  • Deliver training sessions across multiple formats, including virtual and in-person workshops, ensuring clarity and effectiveness.
  • Assess training effectiveness through feedback, evaluations, and performance metrics, adjusting programmes accordingly.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources and management teams to identify skill gaps and create targeted learning solutions.
  • Maintain accurate records of training activities within our platforms
  • Mentor employees through coaching sessions, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
  • Keep up-to-date with industry best practices, e-learning technologies, and organisational development trends.
  • Support the onboarding process by delivering initial training to new hires and facilitating ongoing development initiatives.
  • Deliver classroom and on-site compliance training
  • Design and update training materials and e-learning content
  • Support training administration and evaluate training effectiveness

Experience

  • Proven experience in designing and delivering corporate training programmes using platforms like Adobe Captivate and SharePoint.
  • Strong background in teaching or facilitation within a corporate or educational environment.
  • Familiarity with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) for tracking learning activities.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Experience mentoring or coaching employees at various levels within an organisation.
  • Knowledge of HR processes, including talent development, onboarding, and performance management systems like HRIS tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail. 1. Knowledge

  • In-depth understanding of good practice, current legislation, and policy trends in Health and Social Care, particularly within children’s residential services. - Essential
  • Expertise in mandatory training subjects relevant to residential care. - Essential
  • Familiarity with a range of approaches to learning activities and best practices in L&D. - Essential

2. Education, training and qualifications

  • Relevant qualifications within the mandatory subject area. - Essential
  • Training/teaching qualification. - Desirable
  • Strong numeracy, literacy and IT skills. - Essential
  • Must hold a full driving licence and have access to a vehicle. - Essential

3. Experience

  • Previous experience as a trainer - Desirable
  • Proven experience within the care sector - Essential
  • Experience of managing and allocating resources effectively. - Desirable
  • Administrative experience e.g. report and letter writing, keeping electronic/paper records, organisation, etc. - Essential

  • Must possess strong communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with a wide range of people in various settings - Essential
