Level 3 EYFS Teaching Assistant
SMART Teachers is seeking enthusiastic and experienced Level 3 EYFS Teaching Assistants to join our supply team from September 2026 .
About the role
As a Level 3 EYFS Teaching Assistant , you'll support children in Nursery and Reception, helping to create engaging, play-based learning experiences that encourage confidence, independence, and curiosity.
You will work closely with class teachers to support children's learning and development, assist with classroom activities, and ensure every child feels safe, supported, and included.
Key Responsibilities
- Support teaching and learning within Nursery and Reception classes
- Deliver engaging play-based activities alongside the class teacher
- Work with individual pupils and small groups to support learning and development
- Encourage children's communication, social skills, and independence
- Assist with observations and assessments where required
- Help maintain a safe, stimulating, and well-organised learning environment
- Build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues

You'll work alongside experienced EYFS teachers and supportive leadership teams who value the contribution of skilled Teaching Assistants. Many schools regularly request the same supply staff, with long-term placements often leading to permanent opportunities.
Requirements
To be considered for the role of Level 3 EYFS Teaching Assistant you will:
- Level 3 Early Years qualification (CACHE, NVQ or equivalent)
- Previous experience working in an EYFS setting or UK primary school
- Good understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Passion for supporting children's early learning and development
Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:
