Overview:
First Military Recruitment are searching for a Field Service Engineer to join our client, a leading provider of commercial laundry and catering equipment solutions. With over 50 years of industry experience, the company offers a full-service package, including equipment supply, installation, maintenance, and repair across a wide range of sectors from hospitality and healthcare to sports and private landlords.
This is a field-based role covering London and the South East. You’ll be joining a professional and expanding service team, acting as a key ambassador by delivering a high standard of service and support to clients.
Our client strongly encourages applications from ex-military personnel but all applications will be considered.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Attend service calls to diagnose, repair, and report on faults with commercial laundry and catering equipment
- Identify and report on equipment and installation conditions, making recommendations where appropriate
- Carry out commissioning checks on installed equipment
- Perform basic installations of laundry machines, chemical dosing, and ozone systems
- Recondition and test ex-rental equipment for redeployment
- Conduct routine maintenance visits as required
- Maintain van stock and accurately update the Salesforce inventory system
Skills and Qualifications:
- Mechanical and electrical engineering experience (Gas Safe qualification preferred but not essential)
- Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Professional and personable manner when dealing with customers
- Ability to manage workload independently and meet deadlines
- Comfortable working under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and pride in workmanship
- Full UK driving licence (clean)
