This Career Returner Programme is designed for experienced professionals who want to re-enter work in a role that values judgement, curiosity, and human insight over being “technically up to date”.

The Role

This is not a traditional distribution or broker management role.

Distribution sits at the centre of this business, working across underwriting teams, with brokers, and increasingly clients and risk managers. The focus is on understanding whole risk profiles, connecting insights across the organisation, and helping shape underwriting appetite and relevance.

Rather than selling products, this role is about:

– Listening deeply to clients and brokers

– Connecting dots between client needs and underwriting strategy

– Acting as a translator and challenger between stakeholders

– Helping the business become a more relevant, trusted, and unavoidable partner

– You’ll be comfortable in senior conversations, curious about how businesses really operate, and able to influence calmly without ego.

This opportunity is ideal for returners who:

– Have been out of work for at least 18 months (come May)

– Bring experience from insurance, banking, financial services, regulated environments, or relationship-led roles

– May have followed a non-linear career path (including career breaks, relocation, caregiving, or military backgrounds)

– Are thoughtful, reflective, and strong listeners

– Prefer substance over sales tactics

– Insurance experience is helpful but not essential. Delegated authority, underwriting specialism, or product expertise are not required.
