A welcoming primary school in Chester is seeking a friendly, organised and professional Receptionist to become the first point of contact for pupils, parents, visitors and external agencies. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who enjoys working with people and takes pride in delivering an outstanding level of customer service within a busy school environment.
The successful candidate will play a key role in the daily operation of the school office, ensuring visitors receive a warm welcome while providing efficient administrative support to the wider staff team. No two days are the same, making this an ideal role for someone who enjoys variety, thrives in a fast-paced environment and can confidently manage multiple tasks.
Working closely with the Headteacher, Office Manager and administrative team, you will contribute to creating a positive experience for everyone who enters the school.

Office Team
The office team is central to the smooth running of the school and provides professional support to pupils, parents and staff throughout the academic year. As Receptionist, you will work alongside experienced colleagues to ensure all administrative processes are completed accurately and efficiently.
Your responsibilities will include:
Greeting visitors and ensuring safeguarding procedures are followed.
Answering telephone calls and responding to enquiries professionally.
Managing the school's main email inbox and directing correspondence appropriately.
Signing visitors, contractors and parents into the school.
Providing administrative support to teaching and leadership staff.
Updating pupil information and maintaining accurate records.
Processing incoming and outgoing post.
Ordering office supplies and monitoring stock levels.
Supporting school events, meetings and parent consultations.
Maintaining confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
Assisting with first aid administration where appropriate.
Supporting general office duties as required.

Requirements
Previous receptionist or administrative experience is desirable.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
Ability to prioritise workloads effectively.
Friendly, professional and approachable manner.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Commitment to safeguarding and confidentiality.
Positive attitude and willingness to support the wider school community.
Excellent customer service skills.
