Senior AI Product Manager
LEGO Digital Play will bring the LEGO brand into digital entertainment in new, innovative, and wholly-owned ways. Our mission is to ensure the LEGO brand remains as powerfully a part of children’s lives in the coming decades as it has ever been. We aim to reach every kid on the planet, their parents, and adult fans of LEGO—and provide them with meaningful, magical, and playful new experiences.
We are at the earliest phases of this new company, offering a unique opportunity to build a new entity for the world's most beloved and trusted brand. Our culture is open, collaborative, intellectually rigorous, and creatively vibrant.
Job Summary
As Senior AI Product Manager, you will lead LEGO Digital Play’s AI product team, managing engineers across data, models, infrastructure, and visual experience. You will own our AI foundation end-to-end, while also aligning and scaling delivery across all four AI pillars.
This is a technical product leadership role: you’ll define the product vision, set roadmaps, and guide engineers on how AI models are designed, trained, and deployed. At the same time, you will provide people leadership, ensuring your team is motivated, growing, and operating at a high bar for quality, safety, and brand alignment. Over time, you will expand your remit into business integration, embedding AI into live LEGO play experiences and external partner products.
Key Responsibilities
1. Product ownership for Brick Foundation AI models
- Define and maintain the product vision, roadmap, and success metrics for the Brick Foundation.
- Lead development of simulation-ready LEGO models.
- Oversee in-house AI model development for brick and model manipulation.
- Ensure technical and operational readiness to support IP protection and brand alignment.
2. Cross-Pillar Coordination
- Align technical specifications, APIs, and data models across all four AI pillars.
- Coordinate vendor selection and integration for Pillars 2–4, balancing in-house innovation with external partnerships.
- Drive interoperability between pillar outputs, ensuring they form part of a coherent AI toolkit for LDP’s product teams.
3. Technical Product Leadership
- Work closely with data engineers and model engineers to iterate, train, and deploy AI models for 3D LEGO assets.
- Own the technical product backlog, prioritizing features, experiments, and model improvements based on performance metrics and user needs.
- Set standards for model evaluation, version control, and deployment pipelines.
4. Team Leadership & Vendor Management
- Manage a multi-disciplinary internal product team and oversee external contractors or suppliers.
- Drive hiring, onboarding, and performance management for AI product team members.
- Maintain a robust partner and vendor network for hybrid sourcing models (proprietary + tuned external services).
5. Measurement & Evangelism
- Define and track KPIs including speed-to-prototype, AI adoption in games, and model performance.
- Act as an internal AI champion, ensuring design, brand, and engineering teams exploit AI capabilities responsibly.
- Represent LDP’s AI capabilities in cross-company forums and with key IP partners.
Qualifications
- Proven track record as a product leader for AI/ML-driven products, ideally in gaming, 3D modelling, or interactive entertainment.
- Experience managing multi-disciplinary technical teams, with strong people leadership skills and a track record of growing engineering talent.
- Deep understanding of AI toolchains, 3D ML, data workflows, and deployment infrastructure at scale.
- Hands-on experience working with engineers on model training, evaluation design, error analysis, and deployment.
- Familiarity with game engines (e.g., Unity, Unreal) and AI frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow).
- Vendor management experience, especially hybrid in-house/external sourcing models.
- Excellent communicator who can translate across technical, creative, and leadership audiences.
- Builder’s mindset: thrives in prototype-first environments, iterates quickly, and makes evidence-driven decisions.
- Advocate for responsible AI, ensuring models meet LEGO’s standards for brand integrity, child safety, and ethical practice.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience scaling a new AI team or platform from prototype to production.
- Prior exposure to consumer-scale launches in gaming or interactive entertainment.
- Knowledge of physics/simulation frameworks and AI-enabled creative tools.
