Office Manager - Barking
We are seeking a highly organised, proactive, and professional Office Manager to join a busy and welcoming primary school in Barking, starting ASAP. This is a pivotal role for someone who can manage the day-to-day operations of the school office, supporting staff, pupils, and parents while ensuring smooth administrative processes.
The school values teamwork, efficiency, and clear communication, and the Office Manager plays a key role in maintaining a professional and well-functioning environment. You will be responsible for coordinating administrative tasks, supervising office staff, and supporting the leadership team in the smooth running of the school.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee day-to-day operations of the school office
Supervise and support office and administrative staff
Maintain accurate pupil records, including attendance, admissions, and contact details
Manage communications with parents, staff, and external agencies
Assist with scheduling meetings, appointments, and school events
Monitor and manage office supplies and equipment
Support the Headteacher and senior leadership team with administrative tasks
Ensure compliance with school policies, safeguarding, and health and safety regulations
Coordinate reports, letters, and newsletters as required
Promote a professional, welcoming, and organised office environment
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will:
Have previous experience in school administration or office management
Be highly organised, efficient, and proactive
Have excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
Be IT literate and confident with school management and office systems
Be able to work independently and lead a small administrative team
Be committed to safeguarding and supporting a positive school environment
