School Business Manager Role in a High-Performing Primary School
A high-performing Primary School in Enfield is seeking to appoint an experienced and strategic School Business Manager to join its senior leadership team. About the Role
The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership across the school's business functions, ensuring the effective management of finance, human resources, premises, health and safety, compliance, procurement, and administrative services.
Working closely with the Headteacher and Governors, you will contribute to the school's long-term strategic planning while ensuring that operational systems support outstanding teaching and learning.
This is a varied and rewarding leadership role requiring excellent financial acumen, organisational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the school's financial planning, budgeting, and monitoring
Oversee HR, recruitment, payroll, and personnel processes
Manage premises, facilities, health and safety, and statutory compliance
Lead procurement, contract management, and supplier relationships
Ensure effective administration and operational systems across the school
Support strategic planning with the Headteacher and Governors
Manage support staff and contribute to whole-school leadership
Ensure compliance with all relevant education and financial regulations

Candidate Requirements
Essential Requirements
Previous experience as a School Business Manager or in a senior school operations role
Strong financial management and budgeting experience
Excellent knowledge of HR, compliance, procurement, and health and safety
Outstanding organisational, leadership, and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and lead operational improvement
Desirable
School Business Management qualification or equivalent
Experience working within a primary school setting
Knowledge of education finance systems and school compliance requirements
Experience supporting strategic school improvement initiatives
