Intermediate MEP Quantity Surveyor
Location: Central London
Salary: £50,000 - £70,000 DOE A market-leading main contractor with a strong track record in delivering complex Cat A fit out and refurbishment projects across London is seeking an intermediate MEP quantity surveyor to join its commercial team. This is an urgent requirement following the award of several major new schemes. The contractor operates a flat structure with strong commercial leadership. You will report to a commercial director and work closely with senior and assistant quantity surveyors on site-based projects, including a £25m MEP Cat A fit out in central London. Key responsibilities: * Assist in the preparation and submission of interim valuations and final accounts * Support procurement activities including obtaining subcontractor quotations and preparing tender documentation * Monitor project costs, update budgets, and maintain cost control reports * Review subcontractor payment applications and prepare recommendations for approval * Assist in the management of contract variations, change control, and cost forecasts * Collaborate with project teams, subcontractors, and clients to resolve commercial queries * Support the preparation of risk and opportunity registers and cash flow forecasts * Help compile documentation for extensions of time and loss and expense claims Requirements: * 2-5 years’ experience in quantity surveying, ideally with exposure to MEP contracting or building services * Practical knowledge of NEC or JCT contracts and commercial procedures * Ability to undertake take-offs and prepare cost estimates from M&E drawings * Good understanding of subcontractor procurement and contract administration * Strong numerical, analytical, and communication skills * Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel * Degree or relevant qualification in quantity surveying or related discipline is preferred but not essential This permanent role offers excellent career development opportunities within an established tier 1 supply chain environment.
