The Opportunity & Role Profile
This Outstanding secondary school requires a highly organised and skilled Science Technician for a temporary contract. The role is essential for ensuring the safe, efficient, and inspiring delivery of practical science lessons across all three disciplines by providing vital technical support.
Core Responsibilities & Duties Scope
- Lab Preparer: Preparing apparatus, chemical solutions, and biological materials for daily practical lessons and demonstrations.
- Safety Champion: Ensuring strict compliance with CLEAPSS guidelines, managing chemical inventory, and maintaining a safe and organised laboratory environment.
- Resource Coordinator: Repairing equipment, managing stock, and efficiently setting up labs for classes.
Compensation & Benefits
- Essential Requirements: Previous experience as a Science Technician or relevant scientific qualification/background, with strong commitment to laboratory safety.
- Salary: Competitive salary paid on the local government support staff scale (approx. £24,000 - £29,000 per annum, pro-rata).
