Manager Cleaning Operations

Our Store Operations team is now looking for a Cleaning Operations Manager to lead the delivery of exceptional service standards within our iconic Knightsbridge store on this 12 month fixed term contract.

As a Cleaning Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operational delivery of cleaning, waste and support services within Harrods, we are looking for a future thinking leader who can spot trends and problems in the department and create long-term robust solutions with a constant focus on continuous improvement.

About the Role

You will directly line manage two Assistant Managers and oversee a team 55 made up of Supervisors and Operatives to ensure all services meet specification, run efficiently and reflect the highest standards of quality, health and safety.

You will have a focus on leading projects and initiatives which will create long-term solutions to challenges and data you review on the department, you will be liaising with different stakeholders across the business to drive forward operational improvements and solutions from behavioural to systems to equipment and much more.

You will be accountable for:

Managing operational services to maintain exceptional standards across the store.

Carrying out regular inspections, monitoring contractor performance and addressing issues promptly.

Responding to customer complaints or concerns within 24 hours and ensuring swift resolution.

Overseeing waste management processes, including correct disposal and liaison with contractors.

Supporting the Senior Manager in reviewing service specifications, productivity and process improvements.

Managing financial controls, including stock, equipment, payroll and overtime reconciliation.

Ensuring compliance with fire, safety and company health and safety policies

Planning and approving staff rotas and leave to maintain full coverage of operational needs.

Attending meetings and managing logistics for additional functions and store events.

Ensuring accurate documentation of departmental records and service metrics.

This role is working 5 days over 7 on a shift pattern

Our Afternoon shift is 1:00 pm - 9:30 pm.

Please note you will also need to work every 1 in 3 weekends on a day shift as part of the Management rota.

About You

You will be a service-focused leader with experience managing large operational teams in a customer-facing, high-profile environment. You will be solutions-oriented, organised and confident in leading both people and process.

You will:

Have previous experience in facilities, cleaning, or operational management.

Be confident managing teams and motivating others to maintain high service standards.

Demonstrate a strong understanding of compliance, health and safety and risk management.

Be capable of handling multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Show confidence in managing customer expectations and resolving concerns quickly.

Have good PC literacy and be comfortable using Microsoft Office (Word and Excel in particular).

Possess excellent communication, interpersonal and time-management skills.

Display flexibility and adaptability in line with changing business demands.
