Assistant Project Manager
Job Description
Assistant Project Manager (Construction - Cut & Carve) -£55-60,000 - London
We are supporting an established National Main Contractor with more than £800M of New Build under construction across London and a growing pipeline of a similar value.They have a need for an Assistant Project Manager to join them on an Iconic new Central London £200M cut & carve Hotel Development at PCSA stage. You will join the team in a key support role, engaging with the PCSA process and grow with the project and business.
Key Responsibilities• Support the Project Manager by acting as a coordination link between the Design Department, Commercial Team, and Site Teams.• Assist in producing accurate, consistent, and professional project records, reports, and general project documentation.• Support the Project Manager in liaising with the client, government officials, consultants, and other third parties throughout the project lifecycle.• Assist with pre construction activities, including preparation of Construction Management Plans and supporting the process of obtaining pre commencement permits and agreements.• Assist with site surveys and reviews to identify potential risks, constraints, or design issues and feedback findings to the project team.• Assist in coordinating subcontractors and direct labour, supporting site management teams with day to day requirements.• Prepare and issue progress reports for internal management and client review.• Work closely with the Planning Manager to assist in developing, implementing, and monitoring project programmes.• Support risk management activities, including maintaining and updating the Project Risk Register.• Assist with ensuring projects are delivered in line with the company’s Health & Safety Management System, escalating non conformances.• Support design management activities.• Work closely with the Commercial Team to support procurement activities etc.
You will have:• Degree ideally Civ Eng/Construction Management or equivalent.• Experience working within a main contractor environment, supporting project delivery.• Developing knowledge of construction disciplines including design coordination, procurement, programme management, and Health & Safety.• Confident written and verbal communication skills.• IT literate with a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
