Year 2 Teacher | Brent
A friendly primary school in Brent is looking for an enthusiastic Year 2 Teacher to join their KS1 team from January 2026. The Year 2 Teacher will receive a full induction and handover before January 2026, ensuring strong preparation for the spring term. This Year 2 Teacher role involves teaching structured phonics, guided reading and writing units, and using assessment to accelerate progress.
• Year 2 Teacher required for a full-time KS1 position
• Year 2 Teacher required to work within a warm and inclusive primary school in Brent
• Year 2 Teacher to join a dedicated KS1 team delivering high-quality phonics and early literacy
The Year 2 Teacher will collaborate with TAs, deliver targeted interventions and communicate clearly with families across Brent.
Responsibilities
Lead phonics, guided reading and sequenced Year 2 lessons.
Run focused small-group sessions to close learning gaps.
Use assessment to guide planning and evaluate intervention impact.
Work with support staff to scaffold learning effectively.
Maintain accurate records of attainment and next steps.
Person specification
QTS with KS1 experience, ideally as a Year 2 Teacher.
Strong phonics knowledge and thorough assessment practice.
Committed to starting January 2026 with full induction before then.
