We're working with a leading international law firm seeking a Billings & Collections Assistant to support its London finance team. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone with strong attention to detail, a collaborative mindset, and a keen interest in legal finance operations.

The Role

Reporting to the Finance Supervisor, you'll assist with billing, collections, and inventory management (WIP/AR) across client matters. You'll work closely with Partners, clients, and internal teams to ensure accurate invoicing, prompt collections, and compliance with firm policies and UK VAT legislation.

Key Responsibilities

Billing & Inventory Management

Prepare and process client invoices using Aderant, ensuring compliance with VAT and firm guidelinesUpload e-bills and liaise with the e-billing team as neededMonitor client/matter setup and ensure inventory reflects engagement termsTrack WIP and prompt billing, process write-offs and time transfers as requiredProvide WIP updates and respond to audit queriesCollections & Client Liaison

Liaise with clients monthly to confirm invoice receipt and resolve AR issuesUpdate comments and escalate concerns to Finance SupervisorProcess office account receipts across multiple currencies and ensure accurate applicationAbout You

Experience & Skills

Previous experience in billing, collections or legal finance preferredFamiliarity with Aderant and UK VAT legislationStrong Excel and Outlook skillsExcellent communication and organisational abilitiesComfortable working in a busy, deadline-driven environmentThis is a great opportunity to join a high-performing finance team and build your expertise in legal billing and collections.
