Group Accountant

Vertex Associates are proud to be partnering with an international Education business in hiring a Group Accountant on a permanent basis. This role is working onsite in their NW London office.

The Group Accountant will be responsible for the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of consolidated financial reporting across the Group's 40+ global entities. This role is a senior technical finance position with no direct people management but significant cross-functional collaboration with management accountants, Finance Business Partners, and regional finance leads.

The role requires deep technical knowledge of consolidation, UK GAAP (FRS 102), and multi-currency accounting, along with the ability to influence and coordinate across geographies to ensure the group's financial statements are robust, compliant, and delivered on time.

Responsibilities:

• Group Consolidation & Reporting
• Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closes at group level, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines
• Acquisition & Post-Acquisition Accounting
• Provide technical guidance to management accountants and Finance Business Partners on complex accounting matters
• Maintain and update group accounting manuals and policies in line with evolving UK GAAP and relevant regulations
• Tax & Regulatory support

Requirements:

• ACA or ACCA qualified with 3+ years of post-qualified experience
• Experience of multi-entity group consolidations
• Strong technical skills including UKGAAP and IFRS, specifically IFRS3
• Strong Excel skills
• Strong interpersonal skills and able to communicate at all levels within an organisation
• Highly organised with good attention to detail
• Adaptable and strategic thinker who is capable of multitasking in a busy environment
