The Role:
As a Technical & Compliance Assistant Manager/Manager, you will provide critical support to partners and staff, guiding them through complex audit and UK legislation matters. You will play a key role in answering technical queries, performing audit reviews, and delivering training on emerging issues, helping the firm maintain its high standards and regulatory compliance.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Reviewing audit reports to ensure compliance with auditing standards and regulatory requirements.
- Responding to technical queries and offering audit support to partners and staff.
- Updating the firm's audit methodology to reflect changes in standards, regulations, and audit best practices.
- Developing and presenting technical training sessions for the firm, including annual updates and methodology changes.
- Preparing audit manuals and technical papers, and maintaining up-to-date audit resources on the firm's intranet.
- Collaborating with mid-tier meetings, UK&I networks, and external regulatory bodies on audit-related matters.
What We're Looking For:
- Professional accountancy qualification (e.g., ICAEW, ACCA, or equivalent) with a minimum of 1 year (Assistant Manager) or 3 years (Manager) post-qualification experience.
- Strong understanding of UK auditing standards, legislation, and ethical guidelines (e.g., ISAs, Companies Act 2006, UK GAAP, and IFRS).
- Proven experience in audit practice, preferably with exposure to technical and compliance roles.
- Ability to communicate complex technical matters clearly, both verbally and in writing.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
