Production Team Leader

About the Job
Our client is a UK-based manufacturer recognised for their commitment to quality, innovation and precision in production. They design and manufacture specialist lighting solutions for a range of industries with all products made in the UK. The business continues to grow and is now looking for an experienced Team Leader to oversee its Assembly Technicians at the Crayford facility.
Role Description
As the Team Leader you will be responsible for supervising a team of 12 Assembly Technicians, ensuring that production targets, quality standards and safety procedures are consistently achieved. This hands-on role requires strong leadership, excellent communication and the ability to motivate and develop a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Supervise and support Assembly Technicians on the production floor
* Plan and delegate daily workloads to meet production deadlines
* Monitor product quality and perform final inspections to maintain high standards
* Train, mentor and develop team members to enhance performance and efficiency
* Identify and resolve production issues, driving continuous improvement initiatives
* Ensure compliance with health, safety and quality assurance procedures
* Collaborate with management and other departments to maintain smooth workflow
Skills & Experience
* Previous experience in a team leader or supervisory role within manufacturing or assembly
* Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
* Excellent organisational and time-management abilities
* Proficiency with hand tools and power tools; mechanical assembly or soldering experience advantageous
* Hands-on, proactive approach with strong problem-solving skills
* High attention to detail and commitment to maintaining quality standards
* Ability to work effectively under pressure and lead by example
* Competent in using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook) for reporting and communication
* Strong people management skills, including supervising, motivating and mentoring team member
Working Hours
Monday to Friday: 7:00 am – 4:00 pm (includes 30-minute unpaid lunch)
Overtime may be required on Saturdays
