Tech is complicated, at Currys we understand that the journey for our customers to pick the right product and understand how to pay and protect and get the most from those products is a complex and sometimes overwhelming journey.
We are on a path of transformation for our customer engagement, and this role will be pivotal to meet our ambition of delivering excellent customer experiences across our digital channels based on our customer’s needs and journey mission.
Our strategy leans into the complexity of our journey and customers missions which we are delivering against, and this role will be central to the delivery of 2 of these pillars: Easy to Shop and Getting Personal – with a focus on Customer Account, Loyalty and Personalisation.
You will need a deep understanding of customer needs and feedback, be a key player across all stakeholders to fully understand their needs and problems to solve. Understand where the financial/growth/cost opportunities are, what levers you can pull on to create growth, and customer delight and translate this into a vision and roadmap.
Role overview:
- You’ll be playing a leadership role within the Product function – leading a team of Product Owners and Senior Product Owners through mentoring, line management and working in close collaboration with peers within Product and Online (UX/UI, Analytics, Insight, Trading, CX)
- Drive a culture of building amazing customer centric journeys which are data driven and play a strategic role in defining initiatives that meets Currys strategic goals, with responsibility for building long term roadmaps and vision setting.
- You deeply understanding our customer’s missions to build personalised dynamic experiences, leveraging data, and promoting the use of segmentation, AB testing and partnering with teams across the business such as the Optimisation team, CRM, and Marketing teams.
- Promote our culture of continuous improvement and drive a rapid pace of delivery through iterative development utilising customer insights and a fail fast/test and learn approach
- Own your roadmap - defining, prioritising, and sequencing the backlog and working in cross functional squads as part of discovery to ideate future roadmap initiatives which delivers value for the short, medium, and longer term.
- Understand and communicate the strategy and goals to Currys senior stakeholders and leadership and clearly demonstrate how your roadmap delivers ongoing value.
- Champion and promote agile methodologies and continuous improvement through the product lifecycle.
Experience:
- Strong evidential experience of relevant Product Management
- Experience leading product management teams and passionate about managing, coaching, and mentoring Product Owners
- Experience building roadmaps by conducting data analysis to understand customer needs alongside an understanding of competitor and market conditions to ensure the roadmap is reflective of ongoing and emerging trends
- Able to set and deliver against OKRs which underpin your feature roadmap.
- Proven experience delivering complex and larger programmes crossing multiple feature teams in an agile methodology.
- Technical fluency – you are comfortable understanding and discussing technology concepts, experience evaluating trade-offs and new opportunities with technical team members.
- Knowledge of how to breakdown large scale/new projects into a series of MVP deliverables which deliver value and can be measured by appropriate data capture and monitoring
- Demonstrate understanding and advocate for building complex products without impacting performance, whilst ensuring scalability
- Strong product leader with a passion for building relationships with stakeholders, collaboration, and teamwork
- Proven experience in a retail business is highly desirable – a user centric mindset, ensuring the balance between effort and impact, quality, and delivery and ability to manage requirements from multiple stakeholders across the business.
- Previous experience working with Salesforce is highly desirable – specifically Commerce Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud.
