Overview:
Our client, a highly respected, independent Lloyd’s broker currently undergoing a period of investment and growth, is looking to recruit an experienced Account Handler to join its well-established Protection & Indemnity (P&I) team.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a specialist, close-knit team within a collaborative and supportive business, known for delivering high-quality marine insurance solutions to a global client base.
About the Role:
This role will focus on supporting the team’s P&I and FD&D accounts, ensuring the smooth day-to-day servicing of clients and working closely with brokers, underwriters, and markets. You'll be helping to deliver tailored cover for maritime liabilities, ensuring compliance and confidence at sea.
The team provides insurance solutions to shipowners and charterers worldwide, placing business through International Group Clubs as well as fixed premium facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the servicing and administration of P&I and FD&D accounts.
- Prepare and issue documentation, including slips, endorsements, and renewal papers.
- Maintain and update policy records and client files accurately.
- Support Brokers with market submissions and placement processes.
- Communicate with clients and underwriters to ensure queries are handled promptly and professionally.
- Contribute to a collaborative team environment and provide support as needed across the wider marine division.
Candidate Profile:
- Prior experience in marine insurance, ideally within a P&I, marine liability, or broader marine account handling role.
- Strong knowledge of the Lloyd’s and London markets.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organisational and administrative skills.
- Clear communicator with a proactive, team-first mindset.
- Comfortable working in a small team while contributing to a larger, collaborative business unit.
