Higher Level Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our school community. The successful candidate will support high-quality teaching and learning across the school.

You will be working closely with class teachers to plan, prepare, and evaluate learning activities that meet the diverse needs of pupils.

Contribute to creating an inclusive, nurturing environment where every child feels safe, valued, and supported in their learning.

Collaborate with staff, external agencies, and the wider school community to ensure children receive consistent, high-quality support.

Requirements

To be considered for the role of Higher Level Teaching Assistant you will:

  • HLTA status
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:

  • HLTA

Key responsibilities

As Higher Level Teaching Assistant you will be responsible for:

  • Support teachers in planning, preparing, and evaluating learning activities
  • Provide targeted support to individual pupils or small groups
  • Be proactive, flexible and supportive
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parentd
