Serious Injury - Associate - Grade A Lawyer
Associate (Grade A) – RTA Serious Injury
Location: London or Remote
Department: Serious Injury
Employment Type: Associate
The opportunity
As an Associate in our Serious Injury team, you will play a senior role within one of the UK’s largest claimant serious injury practices, handling complex RTA claims and helping shape the strategy and outcome of life-changing cases.
You will lead a dedicated team, supported by assistant fee earners and paralegals on serious injury matters involving complex liability, quantum, rehabilitation and settlement strategy. The work is genuinely specialist, with Associates operating within defined case value bands rather than across a broad mixed caseload, allowing greater focus and deeper expertise.
This is a role for experienced serious injury practitioners who want to work in an environment built around quality of practice, sound judgement and strong client outcomes. Our model is designed to provide the time, support and autonomy needed to handle complex work properly, without individual billing targets driving decision-making.
Key responsibilities
· Manage a caseload of complex serious injury claims from initial strategy to resolution
· Lead on liability, quantum, rehabilitation, interim payment and settlement strategy
· Work closely with clients, families, counsel, medical experts and other specialists
· Provide direction, oversight and mentoring to junior colleagues
· Contribute to high standards of technical quality, collaboration and client service
Essential experience and qualifications
Applicants will typically demonstrate:
· 8+ years’ PQE, or equivalent senior-level experience in serious injury
· Proven track record of leading complex serious injury matters involving liability and quantum
· Excellent technical capability and sound knowledge of litigation and court procedure
· A strong track record of high-quality client care
· Experience mentoring or supervising junior colleagues
· Strong commercial awareness and professional judgement
