Attendance Officer – Lead Attendance Monitoring, Data Analysis, and Welfare Intervention – Hackney
A dynamic and supportive secondary school in Hackney is seeking an experienced and dedicated Attendance Officer to join their vital pastoral team from January 2026.
- Attendance Officer required from January 2026.

- Seeking a proactive individual to manage attendance data, parental liaison, and intervention strategies .
You will be responsible for the daily monitoring of student attendance, identifying patterns of concern, and implementing early intervention strategies to address persistent absenteeism. The role requires meticulous data recording and close liaison with Heads of Year, the SENCO, and external welfare services.
Experience and Qualifications
- Proven experience working as an Attendance Officer or in a similar administrative/pastoral role within a school environment.
- Strong proficiency in using School Information Management Systems (SIMS)for data input and analysis (essential).
- Excellent understanding of legal responsibilities regarding student attendance and safeguarding protocols.
- Strong communication and empathy skills for sensitive liaison with students and parents.
