Year 3 Teacher | Merton | January 2026
A friendly primary school in Merton is recruiting an experienced Year 3 Teacher to join their KS2 phase from January 2026. The Year 3 Teacher will design carefully sequenced lessons that develop subject knowledge, independence and resilience, using assessment to personalise learning and to plan timely interventions. The successful Year 3 Teacher will be a key contributor to phase leadership, moderation and parental engagement. An induction programme will run in the lead-up to January 2026 to support the Year 3 Teacher’s smooth integration.
Working in Merton, the Year 3 Teacher will be part of a reflective staff team, benefit from structured CPD and have opportunities to lead curriculum projects. The Year 3 Teacher will contribute to improving outcomes through evidence-informed planning and clear progress tracking.
Responsibilities
- Deliver well-structured Year 3 lessons that promote mastery and creativity.
- Use assessment evidence to set targets, plan interventions and measure impact.
- Coordinate with support staff to provide scaffolded learning for a range of needs.
- Communicate progress and next steps to families and participate in review meetings.
- Support extra-curricular provision and community partnerships across Merton.
Person specification
- Qualified teacher with recent Key Stage 2 experience and strong Year 3 classroom practice.
- Effective at planning, assessment and maintaining purposeful classroom routines.
- Collaborative, reflective and committed to working in the Merton locality.
- Available to start January 2026 and to participate in induction activities.
