Financial Reporting Lead HSBC UK

Role Purpose

This is a critical senior leadership position responsible for the integrity, compliance, and efficiency of HSBC UK’s financial and regulatory reporting. This role requires both technical expertise and strong stakeholder management, combined with the ability to lead and continue to develop a high-performing team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive the production of complex financial and regulatory reports, ensuring compliance with IFRS, regulatory standards and listing requirements.
  • Manage the review and governance of disclosures for external publications including board papers, the disclosure committee and auditing financial statements.
  • Consult with teams across the HSBC Finance function to interpret new reporting requirements and design processes to enable the production of disclosures.
  • Build strong partnerships with senior stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor.
  • Foster a culture of excellence by maintaining robust controls, ensuring SOX and internal policy compliance, and drive continuous process improvements across the team.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team, encouraging collaboration and a high-performance culture.

Requirements

  • Professional accounting qualification with strong technical knowledge of IFRS and regulatory frameworks.
  • Extensive experience in financial reporting, ideally within financial services, with experience navigating evolving financial reporting regulatory requirements.
  • Proven strong leadership in a high performing team.
  • Extensive experience building deep relationships with senior stakeholders.
  • Solution orientated, with the ability to deliver against tight deadlines
  • Skilled at analysing and improving end-to-end processes to drive improvements in efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Continuous improvements in process efficiency and control.
  • Full compliance with external and internal requirements.
