CNC Mechanical Fitter- Workshop-Based Role
Location: Acton Works | Pay Rate: £39.24 per hour | Start: ASAP

We are working with a leading engineering organisation on behalf of a highly skilled workshop team, who are currently seeking a Mechanical Fitter / CNC operative to join their rolling stock upgrade projects. This is a hands-on, workshop-based role in a collaborative and safety-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Assemble components and systems following detailed work instructions and assembly drawings
Use hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments (Vernier, Micrometer, ruler) accurately
Apply torque using torque wrenches and follow witness marking procedures
Operate and maintain machinery and workshop equipment, including overhead cranes (desirable)
Contribute to a collaborative, high-performing workshop team

Essential Requirements:

Level 3 Electrical or Mechanical qualification (or equivalent)
Proven ability to read and follow detailed work instructions and assembly drawings
Experience using torque wrenches and measuring tools

Desirable Skills / Experience:

Rail or heavy engineering experience
CNC experience, with programming knowledge considered a plus
Component assembly and system maintenance
Experience with overhead cranes and workshop equipment
