Part Time: 4 days a week (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday)

Social Science Cover Supervisor
GSL Education is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Social Science Cover Supervisor to join a comprehensive girls' school and sixth form in Tower Hamlets. This is an exciting opportunity for a confident Social Science Cover Supervisor who enjoys working with young people and can create a calm, positive and focused classroom environment.

As a Social Science Cover Supervisor , you will play an important role in supporting students' learning by supervising classes in the absence of their usual teachers. You will deliver pre-set work, maintain high standards of behaviour and ensure students remain engaged and focused throughout each lesson.

Responsibilities

* Work as a Social Science Cover Supervisor , supervising lessons across different year groups.
* Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials and ensure students complete the work set.
* Maintain a positive, calm and well-managed classroom environment.
* Support students with their learning and encourage active participation.
* Manage classroom behaviour in line with the school's behaviour policies.
* Monitor students' progress and provide feedback where appropriate.
* Follow school procedures relating to safeguarding, attendance and student welfare.
* Liaise with teaching staff and other members of the school team when required.

Requirements

* Previous experience working as a Social Science Cover Supervisor or in a similar school-based role.
* Experience working with secondary-age students is essential.
* A good understanding of Social Science subjects such as Sociology, Psychology or related areas is desirable.
* Strong classroom management and communication skills.
* The ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
* A reliable, organised and professional approach to work.
* QTS is desirable , but not essential.
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
* The ability to work Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
