Job Title: Placement Information & Payments Officer
Summary
- This is a 3-4 month role with a local authority, focused on delivering a professional, customer-oriented financial transaction service. The position involves contributing to various financial processing functions by inputting and validating data, analyzing evidence, and maintaining accurate records. This role is crucial in ensuring efficient financial operations and supporting the organization's financial integrity.
Responsibilities
- Prepare scheduled and ad-hoc payment cycles from the council’s finance and case management systems to ensure timely payments.
- Allocate and disburse savings to children who are no longer in care.
- Manage changes to existing care packages and ensure payment accuracy.
- Liaise with carers, suppliers, and stakeholders to resolve inquiries and provide advice in writing, by phone, and face-to-face.
- Ensure receipts and annual statements are issued to foster carers.
- Process all invoices, ensuring accuracy, authorization, and compliance with Financial Regulations and HMRC.
- Run and check exception reports to identify and prevent financial anomalies.
- Conduct regular reconciliations of financial records.
Requirements
- Experience: Proven experience working under pressure in a busy office environment with tight deadlines.
- Knowledge: Understanding of the role and responsibilities within children's services.
- Skills: Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
