Primary School Teaching Assistant – Walthamstow – Cover or Full Time Location: Walthamstow, East London Start Date: ASAP Cover / Full-Time, Long-Term About the Role Destination Education is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Primary School Teaching Assistant to join a friendly, inclusive primary school in Walthamstow. This role is available on either a cover basis or a full-time long-term placement, making it ideal for someone who values flexibility or someone looking for a consistent, long-term position. You will be supporting pupils across EYFS, KS1, or KS2, helping to create an engaging and positive learning environment for all children. The successful candidate will assist with classroom activities, provide individual or small-group support, help prepare learning materials, and play an important role in promoting pupil confidence and independence. The school is known for its supportive leadership, welcoming staff team, and commitment to ensuring both pupils and staff feel valued and encouraged. Key Responsibilities Support pupils during lessons, group work, and independent activities Assist the class teacher with lesson preparation, resources, and classroom organisation Encourage positive behaviour and help maintain an inclusive atmosphere Provide 1:1 support for pupils who may need additional guidance Assist with reading, phonics, writing, and numeracy sessions Participate in school activities, events, and enrichment opportunitiesThe Ideal Candidate Experience working with children in a primary school or childcare setting A positive, patient, and nurturing approach Strong communication and teamwork skills Passionate about supporting children’s development and wellbeing Relevant TA qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3) are beneficial but not essentialWhat Destination Education Offers A dedicated consultant to support you throughout your placement Weekly pay Flexible cover roles or long-term full-time positions Opportunities for professional development and progressionInterested?
