About the Role

Key Responsibilities

As a Primary Teacher in Whitechapel, your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning, preparing, and delivering high-quality lessons across the curriculum in line with the National Curriculum

  • Creating a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment that supports the academic and personal development of all pupils

  • Differentiating lessons to meet the needs of pupils of varying abilities, including SEN, EAL, and higher-achieving learners

  • Using assessment to track pupil progress and inform future teaching and interventions

  • Maintaining high expectations for behaviour, effort, and achievement

  • Supporting pupils’ social, emotional, and personal development alongside academic progress

  • Working collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, SENCOs, and senior leadership to implement targeted interventions

  • Participating in pupil progress meetings, curriculum planning, and school-wide initiatives

  • Communicating effectively with parents and carers regarding pupil progress, achievements, and concerns

  • Keeping accurate records of pupil performance, behaviour, and assessments

  • Actively participating in staff meetings, CPD sessions, and other professional development opportunities

  • Upholding safeguarding, child protection, and school policies at all times

The Ideal Candidate

The school is looking for a Primary Teacher who:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Has experience teaching in KS1 or KS2 (ECTs welcome)

  • Demonstrates excellent classroom management skills and applies positive behaviour strategies consistently

  • Is committed to inclusive education and supporting pupils from diverse backgrounds

  • Can differentiate lessons effectively to meet the needs of all learners

  • Is reflective, proactive, and committed to ongoing professional development

  • Has strong communication and interpersonal skills with pupils, parents, and colleagues

  • Works collaboratively as part of a professional teaching team

  • Is passionate about making a lasting difference in pupils’ learning and development

Experience supporting pupils with SEN, EAL, or additional learning needs is highly desirable but not essential.
