Key Responsibilities
As a Primary Teacher in Whitechapel, your responsibilities will include:
Planning, preparing, and delivering high-quality lessons across the curriculum in line with the National Curriculum
Creating a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment that supports the academic and personal development of all pupils
Differentiating lessons to meet the needs of pupils of varying abilities, including SEN, EAL, and higher-achieving learners
Using assessment to track pupil progress and inform future teaching and interventions
Maintaining high expectations for behaviour, effort, and achievement
Supporting pupils’ social, emotional, and personal development alongside academic progress
Working collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, SENCOs, and senior leadership to implement targeted interventions
Participating in pupil progress meetings, curriculum planning, and school-wide initiatives
Communicating effectively with parents and carers regarding pupil progress, achievements, and concerns
Keeping accurate records of pupil performance, behaviour, and assessments
Actively participating in staff meetings, CPD sessions, and other professional development opportunities
Upholding safeguarding, child protection, and school policies at all times
The Ideal Candidate
The school is looking for a Primary Teacher who:
Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Has experience teaching in KS1 or KS2 (ECTs welcome)
Demonstrates excellent classroom management skills and applies positive behaviour strategies consistently
Is committed to inclusive education and supporting pupils from diverse backgrounds
Can differentiate lessons effectively to meet the needs of all learners
Is reflective, proactive, and committed to ongoing professional development
Has strong communication and interpersonal skills with pupils, parents, and colleagues
Works collaboratively as part of a professional teaching team
Is passionate about making a lasting difference in pupils’ learning and development
Experience supporting pupils with SEN, EAL, or additional learning needs is highly desirable but not essential.
