Senior Project Manager - Campus and Minor Projects - Strand, London, WC2R 2LS

About us:

King’s College London’s Directorate of Estates & Facilities is responsible for managing and developing the university’s diverse estate across five central London campuses, sport grounds and residences. With more than 100 buildings ranging from historic 18th‑century landmarks to modern, purpose‑built facilities, the directorate ensures that King’s provides high‑quality, safe and accessible spaces for teaching, research, student life and community activity.

The Campus and Minor Projects (CMP) team delivers end‑to‑end management of small to medium‑sized projects, ensuring high‑quality improvements across the university’s estate.

About the role:

The postholder will provide construction project management leadership within the Campus Projects and Minor Works team, with responsibility for line‑managing a small team of three staff and delivering a diverse portfolio of small‑ to medium‑scale and strategic construction and minor works projects across the University estate.

The role is firmly delivery‑focused, requiring strong, hands‑on construction project and team management expertise to ensure projects are delivered professionally, are technically robust, and fully compliant with the University’s procurement, financial, and Health & Safety requirements, alongside relevant statutory and regulatory standards.

The postholder will act as a key construction liaison across the campus, working closely with internal stakeholders, consultants and contractors to ensure effective coordination and delivery of works, while embedding the Fit for King’s culture consistently across project sites.

In addition to managing a portfolio of construction projects, the postholder will line manage and support 2 Assistant Project Managers. They will take direct responsibility for delivering more complex and challenging construction projects, using these as opportunities to mentor and develop the technical capability, confidence and professional judgement of more junior team members.

This is a full‑time or part‑time post (35 hours per week), and the successful candidate will be offered an indefinite contract. This is a full time / part time post (35 hours per week), and the successful candidate will be offered an indefinite contract.
